baby Stephens....boy or girl??

Hello faithful friends! I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I last posted here. I have missed writing about our days, and I'm not sure why I haven't had it together enough to sit down and write a post. I am going to do better!!

We've had a lot going on, and one thing in particular that I am excited to share! The week after Easter, Jeremy and I had our big anatomy ultrasound. We eagerly anticipated that day for weeks and weeks! We are so happy to announce that our baby is a ......GIRL!!! So that means a little sister for Ella Claire! It is so exciting to think about having sisters so close in age at our house...lots of pink, ribbons, curls, bows and baby dolls! Having 2 myself, I know just how special a sister bond is and we are thrilled that Ella Claire and this new little one will get to experience that.

We kept going back and forth about bringing Ella Claire with us to the doctor's office that day, but at the last minute, Jeremy and I decided to bring her along. Sitting for a long time, in a quiet environment with a 19 month old is not my kind of fun. But, we knew the day would be special and really wanted her to be there with us. She did great and was much easier to keep quiet than I thought. A bag full of books, snacks and quiet toys might have had a little something to do with that! :) When it came time for the ultrasound technician to tell us if we were having a boy or girl, Ella Claire picked up that it was an exciting time. She knew we were happy about something. As soon as we got in the car, we started making phone calls to our family and announcing "It's a girl!" Every time we said it, Ella Claire got the sweetest grin on her face. Here is a little clip of her smiling right after our appointment.

Our sweet baby number 2 doesn't have a name just yet. We have a name picked out that we both love, but we aren't ready to say that it's officially it. We decided way back, when we lived in Birmingham, that we loved the name Ella Claire and it would be the name of our 1st daughter. So, her name was easy. This time around, we didn't really think much about names before the big ultrasound, so, I feel like I need some time to let the name sink in before I commit to it. Names are hard!! As soon as we know 100%, I'll let you know!

I'm planning on coming back again this week to tell you a little about this super special party we attended this past weekend..

and hopefully again to share a little about this...

So, see ya in a few days! Happy (late) Mother's Day to all the special mom's out there! Hope your day was blessed and filled with joy!
